About Mary

Mary, farmer's wife and cookery writer (mum and grandmother) is a passionate advocate for locally produced seasonal food; and her cooking is based on using the finest and freshest ingredients.

Mary has been involved in the world of cookery for the last 25 years; and although not formally trained she has spent lots of time expanding her knowledge and expertise at some amazing places including Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir and Billingsgate Seafood School; Mary is also a Nuffield Farming Scholar and has travelled extensively studying food and farming. Though she would argue that being a farmer’s wife, mum and grandma gives you the best long term training you need!

She writes for The Norfolk Magazine, is a regular guest on BBC Radio Norfolk and organizes cookery demonstrations and theatres across East Anglia, promoting and show casing the best local ingredients and chefs.

In 2013 Mary was named the EDP Norfolk Food and Drink Awards - Food Hero.
